Eric S. Rice is a partner in the Louisville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.  Mr. Rice practices in the areas of civil litigation; he specifically handles all aspects of insurance defense litigation and SIU (Special Investigations Unit) defense matters, and the recovery of personal injury protection (PIP) benefits.  Mr. Rice’s practice also encompasses the defense of property and casualty claims, automobile liability, premises liability, and insurer bad faith claims and coverage issues.

Before commencing private practice, he was an assistant state attorney in Palm Beach County, Florida; there, he operated a prosecution department, and prosecuted a myriad of criminal cases.  He conducted numerous jury and non-jury trials through verdict.

Before his law career, Mr. Rice worked as a law enforcement officer for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, where he gained extensive experience investigating accidents and crimes, as well as interviewing and interrogating persons of interest.  This strong law enforcement background has assisted him with his SIU law practice.  He has successfully investigated and defended fraudulent insurance claims, and has obtained numerous summary judgments and voluntary dismissals for his clients through due diligence and hard work.

Mr. Rice received his Juris Doctor cum laude from Barry University School of Law, Orlando, Florida in May 2009 and Bachelor of Science magna cum laude from Eastern Kentucky University in December 1999, graduating with a major in Police Administration. While in law school, he served as editor of Barry Law Review.

Mr. Rice is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Florida.  He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and The Florida Bar and is also admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.

His professional affiliations also include the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU) and the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators (NSPII).
