Nikki Hawkins is a partner in the Jacksonville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice in the areas of personal injury protection (PIP), first party property insurance defense, automobile negligence matters, and special investigative unit (SIU) and fraud.

Prior to joining QPWB, she practiced as an attorney and  Director of PIP Litigation with a state-wide insurance defense law firm where she headed their Jacksonville office and handled matters involving premises liability, general liability, automobile negligence, personal injury protection (PIP), special investigations and fraud.  She has handled insurance defense matters with several other Jacksonville law firms and has participated in three Trials as second chair or co-counsel during her tenure.

Previously, she was claims litigation manager for one of the largest property insurance companies in Florida where she managed first-party property claims, and also previously worked as a claim manager with a Fortune 500 insurer where she managed both a personal injury protection coverage team (PIP), and a bodily injury/uninsured motorist team of representatives.  Ms. Hawkins also spent 18 years handling bodily injury/uninsured motorist, property damage, personal injury protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage (MPC), auto negligence and liability investigations, as well as policy coverage investigations with State Farm.  Additionally, she spent three years as a Special Investigator of medical billing fraud and insurance fraud.  Her time and expertise within Special Investigations led to two arrests for insurance fraud and the recovery of over $1,000,000 to a fortune 500 insurance carrier.  Ms. Hawkins led a coalition Task Force in the investigation of medical billing fraud working with the Florida Department of Insurance Fraud (DIF), National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), International Association of Special Investigation Unit (IASIU), and Special Agents for the state of Florida Medicaid/Medicare and Worker’s Compensation.

Ms. Hawkins received her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in December 2009 and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida in 1993.

Ms. Hawkins is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar.

Ms. Hawkins has worked as an Attorney ad Litem through the 4th Judicial Circuit for the past 5 years.  She has worked along with a handful of other Jacksonville Attorneys and Judge Gooding to develop the training and recruitment program for the Attorney ad Litem program within the 4 Judicial Circuit. She has chaired and co-chaired several subcommittee groups under the Legal Needs of Children with the Jacksonville Bar Associations.  She currently serves as a chair on the Home and School board for San Jose Catholic School.  She has served as the Ombudsman for a Naval Air Command at NAS Jacksonville where she was the interface between the Company Command and over 400 enlisted families, as a United Way volunteer and Women in Local Leadership through the United Way, as a soccer and basketball coach for more than a decade, and as a volunteer for the IM Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless.
