James J. Maskowitz is a partner in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. His practice focuses on long-term care defense and general liability.

Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Maskowitz was an Assistant Public Defender in the 6th Judicial Circuit in Clearwater, Florida where he was assigned to a Circuit Court Division.  For over three years, he managed a heavy caseload of felony and misdemeanor cases that ranged from charges of attempted murder to D.U.I.  During this same time period Mr. Maskowitz tried 25 jury trials and 3 juvenile bench trials to verdict with either first or second chair responsibilities.

Mr. Maskowitz received his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in May 2009 and Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona in May 2006, graduating with a major in political science.  While in law school, he participated in the National Mock Arbitration competition in New Orleans, LA and also obtained Pro Bono and Sports law certificates.

Mr. Maskowitz is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar.
