Abbye E. Alexander is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice on civil litigation and complex business litigation and has extensive experience conducting bench and jury trials through closing argument. She has spent well over a decade representing businesses, associations, individuals, and local and national banks in breach of contract claims; her practice encompasses intentional and negligent torts, insurance defense, commercial collections, construction defect litigation, civil rights and 1983 litigation and commercial real property and landlord/tenant disputes. 

Ms. Alexander also has extensive experience in the defense of a wide range of medical specialties and related medical issues. She represents nursing homes, assisted living facilities and other long term care facilities and represents parties before state and federal agencies. She has significant experience in settlement negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.

Ms. Alexander has 15 years of experience handling transactional and commercial litigation matters.  She has appeared before both planning and zoning and code enforcement boards on behalf of clients and has a good working knowledge of local governments.   

Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Alexander was a partner with an Orlando law office where she focused on complex business litigation, commercial, real estate and trusts and estates litigation. As a first chair trial attorney, she routinely argued motions, handled depositions, and led negotiations in mediation and settlement conferences. Her practice involved representing community and regional banks and businesses, automotive dealerships, associations and individuals. Previously, she was counsel with a commercial litigation law firm in Orlando where she acted as both, defense and plaintiff’s counsel from case intake through final disposition.

Ms. Alexander received her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in May 2003 and Bachelor of Arts from Arcadia University, Glenside, Pennsylvania in August 1999 graduating with a major in communications. While in law school, she served as an assistant public defender at the Orange County Public Defender’s Office where she participated in jury and non-jury bench trials and depositions.

Ms. Alexander is licensed to practice law in Florida.  She is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and U.S. Bankruptcy Court Middle District of Florida.
