Jeffrey P. Buak is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He has over 15 years of experience serving clients in the real estate industry and is “Board Certified in Real Estate Law” as recognized by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. His real estate practice focuses on real property transactions, property rights, land use and zoning, real estate development and financing, workouts and bankruptcies, construction, eminent domain and condemnation, and real estate title insurance. Mr. Buak has also represented local governments for over five years and he represents private sector companies and individuals interacting with governmental entities.
Mr. Buak has a broad real estate practice that includes the representation of real estate developers nationwide. He has handled large transactions and alternative financing agreements, including off-balance sheet purchases and land-banking arrangements. His clients include residential and commercial developers and property owners of all sizes.
Mr. Buak’s practice extends to the following areas:
Real Estate Development - Counsels property owners, tenants, developers and investors in a variety of real estate and transactional projects ranging from single buildings to developments of regional impact. His representation includes buying, selling, leasing and converting residential and commercial property.
Real Estate Finance - Works with lenders and borrowers on interim and permanent mortgage loans on commercial projects. He also handles workouts, bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings, and restructuring of troubled projects.
Government Representation – Provides advice, representation and counsel to private and public sector clients in the areas of land use and zoning, eminent domain, construction, and economic development incentive programs.
Construction - Counsels developers, builders, contractors, construction managers, project owners and investors, and other industry participants with contracts and other construction-related matters.
Land Use and Zoning - Advises companies on land use and zoning, and regularly appears before local, state and federal agencies.
Eminent Domain and Condemnation - Represents property owners, business owners, lessees and mortgagees in eminent domain and condemnation proceedings, as well as with inverse condemnation proceedings.
Title Insurance/Authorized Title Agent - Acts as agent for major national title insurance companies in issuing owners’ and mortgagees’ title insurance policies for both residential and commercial transactions.
Condominium and Homeowner Associations - Represents condominium and homeowner associations as well as their directors and officers in matters arising out of alleged violations of fiduciary duties, breach of contract and any and all other types of allegations arising from this area of law.
Mr. Buak received his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, Miami, Florida in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Central Florida in 1989.
Mr. Buak is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar.
