Gary I. Masel is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. He practices in state and federal courts in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy.  He frequently represents national and institutional clients with both secured and unsecured creditor collection actions, complex commercial foreclosures, bankruptcies and workouts.  Mr. Masel’s practice also includes handling claims involving general liability, premises liability, negligent security, and mass tort disasters.

Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Masel was an attorney with the law firm of Wicker, Smith, O’Hara, McCoy & Ford, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale where he represented businesses and individual clients in commercial litigation involving contract disputes, unfair and deceptive trade practice actions, and collection matters throughout the state.  His practice also involved the area of insurance defense, particularly, aviation accidents and property damage claims related to aircraft operations.

A member of the Florida Bar and the Kentucky Bar, Mr. Masel is licensed to practice law in both states.  He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida.  Mr. Masel is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association.

Mr. Masel has been rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards.

Mr. Masel received his Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University in 1994 and earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University in 2006.

Earning his “wings” in 2001, Mr. Masel holds a Private Pilot’s License for the operation of single-engine aircraft.  That same year, Kentucky Governor Paul E. Patton commissioned Mr. Masel as a Kentucky Colonel and he has been a proud member of the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels charitable organization ever since.
