Stephanie W. Ritt is a partner in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Ritt specializes in the area of litigation in civil trials before state courts, federal courts, administrative agencies and arbitrators. Ms. Ritt is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Education and Specialization. For over 10 years, she has focused her practice in a wide range of general liability and insurance defense matters including premises liability, medical malpractice, nursing home defense litigation, legal malpractice, personal injury, labor and employment, professional liability, products liability, civil rights, municipal liability, law enforcement liability and appellate law.
Ms. Ritt represents condominium and homeowner associations as well as their directors and officers in matters arising out of alleged violations of fiduciary duties, breach of contract and any and all other types of allegations arising from this area of law.
Ms. Ritt began her legal career in 1999 with Guemmer and Seymour, a civil defense litigation law firm in Tampa, Florida, and the firm became Guemmer, Seymour and Ritt when she became a partner in 2007. As a trial attorney, she focused in the areas of insurance defense and general liability.
Ms. Ritt is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar. She represents clients in both state and federal courts and is admitted in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Ms. Ritt’s professional associations include the American Bar Association, Hillsborough County Bar Association, Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, where she serves as a mentor and is a past Committee chair; she is also a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, and the Defense Research Institute.
Ms. Ritt received her Juris Doctor cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1999 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts magna cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City in June 1991.
Ms. Ritt has lectured on the topic of Qualified Immunity as part of a seminar entitled “Police Liability in Florida” hosted by Lorman Education Services.
