Ms. Haslam received a Masters of Law magna cum laude in Land Use and Environmental Law in May 2010 from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law; and a Juris Doctor and Certificate of Land Use and Environmental Law in 2009 from Florida State University College of Law, where she received Book Awards in Florida Water Law and Planned Communities. At Florida State University, Ms. Haslam also received a Master of Science in Urban Planning in 2009 and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science in 2001.
While in law school, Ms. Haslam served as a legal intern at the Conservation Clinic of the University of Florida, Levin College of Law participating in an environmental and land use law clinic focused upon the delivery of transactional, client-based services. Ms. Haslam also gained experience as a law clerk at a Tallahassee boutique law firm specializing in environmental and land use law. She handled permitting processes and issuance requirements for local, state and federal environmental and land use permits.
Ms. Haslam is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar Environmental and Land Use Law Section. She is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Ms. Haslam serves as a court appointed volunteer Guardian ad Litem with the Ninth Judicial Circuit, as she did while in law school with the Second Judicial Circuit, representing the interests of abused and neglected children. Ms. Haslam currently volunteers with and serves as a board member with Orange County Teen Court.
