Kristin M. Lomond is an associate in the Louisville, Kentucky office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice in the areas of insurance coverage disputes, bad faith claims, and appeals. Ms. Lomond has extensive litigation experience in multiple areas of law including complex litigation, asbestos litigation, product liability, personal injury, warranty claims, premises liability, medical malpractice and professional negligence, general insurance defense, and drug and medical device litigation. Her practice is also involved in real estate development, estate planning and probate litigation. Ms. Lomond is an experienced business litigator who represents businesses in cases involving breach of contract, business torts, class actions, and trademark and ownership disputes.
Previously, Ms. Lomond was an attorney at a partner-managed general practice in Louisville, where as a litigator she handled multiple areas of practice, including estate planning and probate litigation, and transactional and small business matters. Prior to that, she was an attorney at a large Louisville law firm where she focused in the representation of mass torts and class actions to include the national and statewide “phen-fen” litigation.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Lomond worked as an industrial security specialist for the Department of Defense, Investigative Service in Cincinnati, Ohio. In that capacity, she inspected and educated government contractors in physical, personnel and electronic security, and was responsible for instructing government contractors in the proper handling of government-classified information for various defense department agencies.
Ms. Lomond is a former law clerk to the Kentucky Supreme Court. Specifically, she was senior law clerk to retired Supreme Court Justice, the Honorable Martin E. Johnstone; she also served under him as a staff attorney and law clerk during Justice Johnstone’s tenure with the Jefferson Circuit Court and the Kentucky Court of Appeals.
Ms. Lomond received her Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 1993 and her Bachelor of Science cum laude from the University of Dayton, Ohio in 1987. During law school, Ms. Lomond served as notes editor of the Law Review.
Ms. Lomond is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit. She is an active member of the Louisville and Kentucky Bar Associations. Ms. Lomond is a former officer and member of the Women Lawyers’ Association of Jefferson County. She is also a former member of the Louis D. Brandeis American Inn of Court at Louisville.
