
Charles S. Rowley, Jr., is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Rowley is a trial attorney with over 18 years of experience in civil litigation and is a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator. Specifically, Mr. Rowley focuses in the areas of insurance defense, general liability, personal injury claims, premises liability, products liability actions, and medical malpractice claims. His practice also includes handling loss prevention claims and addressing risk management issues. Mr. Rowley has received an AV® peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating afforded for legal ability and ethical standards.
Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Rowley was an attorney at various South Florida firms where he developed a broad insurance defense litigation practice representing clients in both state and federal courts. He represents insurers in matters involving many different types of claims. Mr. Rowley’s recent representation includes a Florida based supermarket chain, one of the largest mall operators in the world, a national warehouse/home improvement retailer, school boards, taxicab and trucking companies, and cruise lines. He has also defended medical malpractice claims, representing healthcare providers including hospitals, physicians, and nurses.
Mr. Rowley received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1993 and his Bachelor of Science cum laude from State University of New York at Cortland in 1978 majoring in education. During law school, Mr. Rowley was associate editor of the Inter-American Law Review and a member of the moot court board. Mr. Rowley is a board member of the University of Miami School of Law Alumni Association where he is currently serving as a director for a six-year term and served as Vice President for two years. He is also a member of the University of Miami Alumni Club of Broward County serving on the board for seven years and as President for two terms; and, he is a member of the University of Miami Alumni Association serving as alumni counsel for five years and member of the Board of Trustees Nominating Committee. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Rowley was a police officer with the City of Margate, Florida for almost 10 years.
Mr. Rowley is licensed to practice law in Florida and Tennessee. He is a member of The Florida Bar and is also admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Rowley is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and Defense Research Institute.
