stanton_webTammy L. Stanton is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Her practice is focused primarily in the areas of nursing home defense litigation, medical malpractice defense, and insurance defense.  Ms. Stanton also handles workers’ compensation claims and claims involving general liability.

Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Stanton practiced with a Sarasota, Florida law firm specializing in workers’ compensation litigation.  She handled workers’ compensation claims in the representation of employers, insurance companies, and third party administrators.

Ms. Stanton received her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 2002 and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in 1998 with a major in political science.  During law school, she was selected to join the National Order of Barristers and was a finalist in the Robert Orseck Moot Court Competition.  As a member of the student bar association, she served as chair of the pro bono committee, co-chair of the election committee, and was named Student Bar Member of the Year.

Ms. Stanton is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar.  Her professional memberships also include the Sarasota County Bar Association, Florida Association of Women Lawyers (Sarasota Chapter), and the Sarasota/Bradenton Claims Association.

Ms. Stanton is an approved instructor through the Florida Department of Financial Services - Education Section CE 3-24a for Adjuster Law and Policy courses; she is a frequent speaker and lecturer on the topic of workers’ compensation law at various accredited seminars throughout Florida.

In her community, Ms. Stanton is an active member of Hands on Tampa Bay (“HOT”) a United Way affiliate that provides volunteer staffing for a wide range of Bay area charitable and non-profit service organizations; she currently serves as chair of the Advisory Committee, and also serves as a project leader, and ambassador; in 2007, she chaired the Project Evaluation Committee.  Ms. Stanton also serves as a volunteer with Kids Charities of Tampa Bay.
