John Rockwell is an associate in the Jacksonville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.  Mr. Rockwell practices in the areas of nursing home defense litigation, medical malpractice, insurance defense including general liability, premises liability and automobile liability claims, as well as criminal defense.

Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Rockwell tried over 50 jury trials while serving as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida in Jacksonville for over four and a half years.  While at the State Attorney’s Office, he was assigned to the Homicide/Major Crimes Unit handling homicide cases, including those in which the State sought the death penalty.

Before joining the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Rockwell was a civil litigation associate attorney with a Monroe County law firm where he handled various matters pertaining to bankruptcy, construction, family law, business transactions, real estate and city code enforcement matters.

Mr. Rockwell received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2004 and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Asheville - double majoring in Spanish and Sociology - and was a four year starter on UNC Asheville’s Division I Tennis team.  While in law school, Mr. Rockwell received a Book Award in International Law and was awarded honors in Trial Advocacy in UM’s Litigation Skills Program.  During his undergraduate studies, he completed an intensive Spanish study abroad session in Guadalajara, Mexico, which was conferred with high honors.

Mr. Rockwell is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar.  He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
