Rebecca L. Didat is a partner in the Louisville office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.  Ms. Didat’s litigation practice is mainly focused in the representation of the health care industry and also includes general liability and civil litigation, including breach of contract, premises liability, and personal injury actions.  Her practice in health care litigation is extensive and encompasses the representation of hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, nurses and health professionals in a wide range of matters at trial and appellate levels, as well as before medical review panels.  In addition to her focus in the area of medical malpractice defense, Ms. Didat also represents pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers in product liability actions and has successfully managed the defense of a major pharmaceutical manufacturer in diet drug litigation in Kentucky.

Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Didat was an attorney with two Louisville, Kentucky law firms focusing in health care litigation, medical negligence, products liability and personal injury.  Her practice included representation of clients in state and federal courts and in mediation, arbitration and appeals.

Ms. Didat is a longstanding speaker to industry professionals on topics of health care, risk management and documentation.  She is a frequent lecturer to nursing students on the topics of legal issues and trends in the law related to nursing care.  She has also presented on confidentiality of medical records to health care professionals.  Prior to her legal career, Ms. Didat was a physical therapist for a number of years in various health care settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers and outpatient facilities in both Kentucky and Indiana.

Ms. Didat received her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from Indiana University in 1985, where she was a member of the Dean’s list.

Ms. Didat is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Indiana, and is admitted before all state and federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Ms. Didat is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, Kentucky Defense Counsel, and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (Trial School Graduate).
