ami_demarco_webAmi L. DeMarco is the Managing Partner of the Health Care and Tort Defense Practice Group in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. DeMarco focuses her practice in the areas of health care, medical malpractice, and professional liability. She has extensive experience in all aspects of complex injury litigation, wrongful death actions, and claims brought under the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act. Ms. DeMarco represents businesses in commercial issues and torts arising in the long-term care context, such as breach of contract actions and complex business litigation involving attempts to pierce the corporate veil of long-term care facilities

Ms. DeMarco represents members of the healthcare industry, including doctors, hospitals and health systems, and long-term care facilities through all phases of litigation from trial through appeal.  She has tried to verdict numerous long-term care cases in Cook County Illinois and has successfully argued appeals before the Third Appellate District Court.

Ms. DeMarco received her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology in 2000 and a Bachelor of Arts from DePaul University, Chicago, in 1997.

Ms. DeMarco is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar and Chicago Bar Associations, and Defense Research Institute (DRI), including its long-term care section.

Ms. DeMarco is a frequent lecturer to industry professionals on the topics of long-term care litigation and risk management. She has been selected to speak at the Nursing Home Symposium offered by the Chicago Bar Association.  In addition, she regularly provides in-services to clients and counsels them in ways to avoid litigation.
