Vincent J. Montell is the managing partner of the Phoenix, Arizona office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. His practice is focused in the areas of commercial and business litigation, medical malpractice and long-term healthcare, professional liability, products liability and in the defense of catastrophic personal injury and property damage cases.  Mr. Montell also defends insurers against extra-contractual (bad faith) claims and trucking cases.

A seasoned and experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Montell has taken more than 30 cases to verdict.  He has appeared in various state and federal courts across the country.  His experience includes handling matters where the intricacies of law intersect with the complexities of science.  He regularly works with scientific and medical experts, including engineers, scientists, physicians, accident reconstructionists and other technical experts.  His experience with the technical side of defending his clients has made him a sought after trial lawyer.  Mr. Montell counsels clients on a full range of risk management issues.  He employs an early investigation and evaluation program to help clients identify and understand their risks and potential liability.

Mr. Montell’s trial success is recognized by both his clients and in publications of the Defense Research Institute and American Bar Association.  He has been identified as a “Top Attorney” in Arizona, in Southwest Super Lawyers, a distinction honoring the top five percent of lawyers in the region and he has been selected by his peers to be included in Best Lawyers in America.

He is a frequent lecturer for many organizations and companies on hot topics in law, and risk reduction and awareness.

Mr. Montell received his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, New York in 1988 and Bachelor of Science also from St. John’s University in 1985.

Mr. Montell is licensed to practice law in Arizona and New York and is also admitted in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the United States Supreme Court.  He is a member of the Arizona Bar Association, New York Bar Association, Maricopa County Bar Association, Arizona Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, and the American Bar Association.
