Julie Flaherty Cheatham is a partner with the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where she focuses her practice in long term care.  With over ten years of experience in defense litigation in the Chicago area, Ms. Cheatham has tried more than 25 jury trials throughout Cook and the surrounding counties of Illinois. The breadth of her experience extends to medical malpractice, professional liability defense, construction negligence and construction defect cases, premises liability defense, products liability and wrongful death claims.

Ms. Cheatham represents corporate and individual clients in the defense of tort claims involving nursing home malpractice, survival actions and wrongful death claims.  She provides legal advice and counsels clients on contract disputes, employment issues, licensing requirements, and in appeals of citations of deficiencies and imposition of fines.  Additionally, she has represented nursing home employees and facilities in regulatory hearings before the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

As house counsel attorney to one of the largest insurance companies in the U.S., Ms. Cheatham has handled all aspects of claims in the defense of personal injury cases involving automobile liability, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims.

Ms. Cheatham received her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1999 and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from DePaul University, Chicago in 1996 with a major in finance.   In law school, she concentrated her studies in litigation, obtaining a Certificate in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Ms. Cheatham is licensed to practice law in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
