William D. Horgan is an associate in the Tallahassee office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Mr. Horgan concentrates his practice in the areas of professional malpractice defense, products liability defense, insurance matters, general civil litigation and appellate matters.
A graduate of Florida State University, Mr. Horgan earned his B.S. in Criminology in 1996. In 1999, he earned his J.D., with high honors, from Florida State University College of Law, where he was Executive Editor of the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy. Before joining QPWB, Mr. Horgan was a shareholder at the Tallahassee law firm of Fuller, Johnson & Farrell, P.A.
Mr. Horgan is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Florida and all Florida state courts, the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bar's Appellate Litigation Section, and has handled numerous reported and unreported appeals in state and federal court, including Evanston Ins. Co. v. Budget Group Inc., 199 Fed. Appx. 867 (11th Cir. 2006); Ambeca Inc. v. Marina Cove Townhome Ass'n Inc., 880 So. 2d 811 (Fla. 1st DCA 2004); Harris v. Duval County Sch. Bd., 921 So. 2d 725 (Fla. 1st DCA 2006); Weaver v. School Bd. of Leon County, Fla., 896 So. 2d 929 (Fla. 1st DCA 2005); Weaver v. School Bd. of Leon County, Fla., 874 So. 2d 1281 (Fla. 1st DCA 2004); and Linn v. Fossum, 894 So. 2d 794 (Fla. 1st DCA 2004). He is also co-author of Chapter 6 of the Florida Medical Malpractice Handbook (1st ed. 2006), entitled "Statutes of Limitation for Medical Malpractice."
