Asika K. Patel is an associate in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Her areas of practice include commercial litigation, transportation law, and first and third party insurance defense.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Patel handled residential and commercial first party property insurance defense cases at Maltzman Foreman, P.A. in Miami. She also worked at Harris Brown, P.A. in Jacksonville, Florida, and defended personal injury, property damage, coverage, and contract disputes. Ms. Patel was a commercial litigator concentrating in transportation law at Lawrence J. Roberts & Associates, P.A. in Coral Gables, Florida, where she defended motor carriers in complex commercial disputes arising from loss, damage, and/or delay of shipments traveling in interstate and intrastate commerce. Thereafter, at Spiegel & Utrera, P.A., Ms. Patel defended various corporations in trademark and complex commercial disputes in both, Florida and New York.
Ms. Patel earned two undergraduate degrees from the University of Windsor, Ontario Canada, her first B.A. in Family and Social Relations in 1998, and in 1999, her second B.A., with honors, in Psychology. Ms. Patel received her Juris Doctor in 2002 from Florida Coastal School of Law. While a law student at Florida Coastal School of Law, Ms. Patel served as a Certified Legal Intern at the Office of General Counsel (OGC) in Jacksonville, Florida. At the OGC, she worked in the areas of commercial litigation, construction law, eminent domain, land use and planning, and personal injury.
Ms. Patel is licensed to practice in the states of Florida and New York. She is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
