Tanaz Salehi is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Salehi focuses her practice in the area of civil litigation and insurance defense. She has handled employment discrimination claims under Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Florida Civil Rights Act, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), including wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act. In representing non-profit organizations, Ms. Salehi has handled professional liability cases which have included directors and officers indemnification in coverage action of attorneys’ fees. Additionally, Ms. Salehi’s experience extends to the representation of homeowners and condominium associations in commercial litigation, property disputes, tort claims and in administrative charges of discrimination under the Fair Housing Act.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Salehi was an associate with Vernis & Bowling of Miami, P.A., where she represented clients in state and federal civil litigation in complex insurance defense matters.
Ms. Salehi clerked at Saliwanchik, Lloyd & Saliwanchik, P.A. in Gainesville, Fla., where she assisted in drafting patent and trademark applications for the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Ms. Salehi earned her Juris Doctor from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Miami, Florida; graduating in the top 10% of her class and named to the Deans List. While in law school, she participated in the International Human Rights Campaign Research Project (2007) and was a volunteer coordinator in Hands on Miami. She received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy with a minor in criminology from the University of Florida.
Ms. Salehi is licensed to practice law in Florida. She is member of The Florida Bar and her application to the California Bar is currently pending.
Ms. Salehi speaks Farsi and Turkish.
