C. Erica White is an associate in the Tallahassee office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where she will focus her practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, employment related claims, automobile negligence, and construction litigation. Ms. White handles all phases of legal actions including discovery, trial and appeals.

Prior to joining QPWB in 2009, Ms. White was a solo practitioner in Northern Florida, where she focused her practice in the areas of civil litigation, criminal law, family law, and business law.

Prior to entering private practice in 2004, Ms. White was a senior attorney with the Florida Department of Children and Families in Tallahassee, Fla., where she handled cases involving family safety proceedings, termination of parental rights and dependency actions. Previously, Ms. White was also an assistant general counsel in the state’s land planning and community development agency - the Florida Department of Community Affairs in Tallahassee, Fla., where she provided legal advice to the Florida Communities Trust staff and conducted complex real property acquisitions.

Ms. White is licensed to practice law in Florida; she is a member of The Florida Bar and has been appointed to serve on the Juvenile Court Rules Committee. Ms. White is a member of the American Bar Association, where she is active in the Law Practice Management (LPM) Section and currently serves as the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) liaison to the Section. Ms. White previously served as ABA YLD Diversity Director (2007-2008) and as Florida District 11 ABA YLD Representative (2006-2008). Recognized for her participation in the ABA YLD, she was twice honored with the Star of the Year award, and is a three-time recipient of the Star of the Quarter award.

Ms. White received her Juris Doctor in 2001 from Florida State University College of Law. She is a graduate of Florida A&M University receiving a Master’s in Business Administration in 1993, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1992.

While attending law school, Ms. White was a law clerk at the Florida Department of Legal Affairs, Antitrust Section. She was also a Minority Participation in Legal Education scholar and served as secretary, of the FSU Mock Trial Team. Ms. White was also national treasurer and local president of the Black Law Students Association; chaired the FSU Law School Appropriations Committee, and was secretary/treasurer of the Student Bar Association.

Ms. White has been actively involved in her community; and since 2002, she has served as a Mock Trial Team coach and advisor at both, Florida State University College of Law and at Maclay High School, Tallahassee, Fla.
