FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.Trelvis D. Randolph and Rebecca V. Aroca attorneys from the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of a Davie, Florida nightclub owner in a slip and fall incident sustained by the plaintiff during a performance at the defendant’s nightclub.
The Plaintiff claimed that she slipped on water on the floor during her performance, which caused her to fall and incur an injury to her left knee.  The damage claimed from the fall included surgery for a torn ACL, meniscus tear and torn LCL.  She also claimed that the resulting treatment and single-dose Medrol pack prescribed by her treaters produced avascular necrosis in her right hip nearly a year and a half after the knee surgery.
The defense argued there was no water on the floor as the area was inspected by employees of the club and the Plaintiff prior to her performance. The defense also argued that the knee damage pre-existed the fall and that the avascular necrosis was not related to treatment for her knee.
The offer of settlement from the plaintiff remained steadfast at $325,000.00.
The jury returned a complete defense verdict after deliberating for three hours.
