In addition to representing self-insured individual and corporate defendants directly, Mr. Crabill and his experienced team of associate lawyers are routinely retained by domestic and foreign insurance carriers to defend their insureds against claims brought in a variety of jurisdictions.
Mr. Crabill also has an extensive admiralty and maritime law background. He has represented cruise lines, marine underwriters, protection and indemnity (P&I) clubs, and recreational/commercial vessel owners and operators in maritime casualty and personal injury claims, including: Jones Act negligence; unseaworthiness; maintenance & cure; LHWCA; and wrongful death cases, brought by passengers, crewmembers, longshoremen and other third parties (swimmers/fishermen/snorkelers/scuba divers). Mr. Crabill holds a U.S. Coast Guard master mariner’s license and has experience operating vessels of various tonnages in both coastal and international waters. His practice routinely requires foreign travel and Spanish language proficiency.
Mr. Crabill has lived in South Florida for more than 40 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Washington and Lee University in 1989. He was awarded his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center in 1996. He has spent his entire legal career defending personal injury and wrongful death claims.
Mr. Crabill is admitted to practice law in both the state and federal courts of Florida (since 1996) and the U.S. Virgin Islands (since 2005), and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, the Dade County Defense Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.
