James E. Moon is a partner in the Fort Myers and New York offices of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., practicing in the areas of civil, business, and complex commercial litigation including general liability defense and the defense of professionals/officers/directors from liability and E & O claims. Mr. Moon has extensive trial experience having tried multiple cases to jury verdict. His experience further extends to the areas of financial institution defense, financial regulatory compliance, real estate, labor and employment law claims, along with FINRA arbitrations. He is certified as a Florida Arbitrator and is a certified FINRA arbitrator.
Mr. Moon received a Bachelor of Science in 1993 majoring in political science and international relations from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Arts, with honors, in political leadership and criminal forensics from Saginaw Valley State University. In 1998 Mr. Moon was awarded his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. He continued his legal studies at Saint Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida earning a Master of Laws cum laude in international taxation and financial services.
Mr. Moon actively practices in the states of Florida, New York and Tennessee. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the New York State Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Association. Mr. Moon is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, U.S. Tax Court, and U.S. Court of International Trade.
Mr. Moon has been certified by the American Academy of Financial Managers (AAFM) in compliance and risk management analysis and by the International Compliance Association (ICA) in anti-money laundering and financial crime prevention. In addition, he is certified by the University of Manchester (England) in AML.
