Michelle D. Cofiño is a partner in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.  Ms. Cofiño practices in state and federal courts in a wide range of employment law disputes and complex commercial litigation matters involving, commercial disputes, construction defect claims, professional liability claims, contract disputes, and appellate matters.  Ms. Cofiño’s practice is also emphasized in a wide range of employment-related matters, which includes employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, disability leave, and accommodation including those under the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Prior to joining Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., Ms. Cofiño was as an associate with a Florida based law firm where she focused on complex litigation matters, her practice included commercial litigation and real estate litigation.

Ms. Cofiño received her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, Miami, Florida in 2006 and a Bachelor of Arts from Barry University, Miami, Florida in 2002.  During law school, she received the Book Award for academic achievement in Supreme Court Advocacy course and was also a member of Phi Delta Phi Honors Law Fraternity.

Ms. Cofiño is licensed to practice law in Florida; she is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Tax Court.

Her professional affiliations include the Dade County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, Federalist Society, and Miami Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Ms. Cofiño serves as a Diversity College Liaison for Wells Fargo. She has also served as a board member of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Miami / Fort Lauderdale Affiliate (June 2012 – October 2013).

Ms. Cofiño is recognized in Super Lawyers® Florida list of “Rising Stars” 2016, 2017, and 2018 as a top rated attorney in general litigation.

She is fluent in Spanish.
