Ashley M. Powell is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. Ms. Powell practices in the areas of insurance defense focusing on first-party property disputes, insurance coverage and bad faith claims litigation. Her practice is also emphasized in the areas of general civil litigation, premises liability, and general negligence claims.
Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Powell worked as an associate attorney with two Tampa Bay area law offices. She has represented plaintiffs in first party insurance property claims and employees in employment disputes pertaining to workplace violations including representations in unemployment hearings and EEOC proceedings. She also successfully served as second-chair trial attorney in a federal disability discrimination case.
Ms. Powell received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in May 2015 and Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Florida State University in May 2011 graduating with a major in art history, French and Francophone studies. While in law school, she served as a law clerk and legal assistant to a personal injury and automotive liability law firm.
Ms. Powell is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She volunteers as an attorney for the Bay Area Legal Services and is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Hillsborough Association for Woman Lawyers and Tampa Hispanic Bar Association.
She is native fluent in Spanish and conversational in French.
