Vivian O. Seymour is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., focusing her practice on defending a wide variety of long-term care negligence matters including abuse, medical and professional malpractice, breach of contract, patient’s bill of rights violations and wrongful death on behalf of insurers and self-insureds.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Seymour was an attorney with Children’s Legal Services for more than five years handling a high-volume of cases involving abuse, abandonment, and neglect of children. There, she was engaged in many aspects of civil litigation including mediations, motion hearings, and trials. Previously, she was an attorney with a large regional firm assisting with foreclosure matters. She also has experience in legal research and writing appellate briefs.
Ms. Seymour received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in Spring 2012. She received a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida in Spring 2007. As a law student, she served as a pupil to the Chester Bedell Inn of Court, community service co-chair to the W. George Allen Chapter of National Black Law Students Association and executive board member to the Law College Council. She received Pro Bono and Community Service certificates and two book awards for Doing Business Law in Highly Emerging Economies and Domestic Violence Law.
While in law school, Ms. Seymour held two certified legal internships. As a Certified Legal Intern in the Gator TeamChild Juvenile Clinic, she represented children in delinquency and dependency court. During her internship with the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic, she represented victims of domestic violence. Prior to attending law school, she was an American Bar Association Governmental Affairs Office intern in Washington, D.C. where she researched American Bar Association policy positions and composed memorandums.
Ms. Seymour is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of the American Bar Association.
