Kimberly J. Lopater is an associate in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She practices as a member of the Firm’s Litigation and Appellate Practice Groups in the areas of long-term care defense and general liability including premises liability, products liability, and automobile liability and the defense of other negligence and tort claims.
Ms. Lopater received her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law at Gulfport, Florida in May 2019 and Bachelor of Science from Florida State University in May 2015, graduating with a double major in Political Science and International Affairs.
While in law school, Ms. Lopater served as the President of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers at Stetson (FAWLS) and was an active board member with the Pinellas County Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (PFAWL). She served as a judicial intern at the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in St. Petersburg, Florida working on mortgage foreclosure and insurance dispute cases, and at the United States Bankruptcy Court in Tampa, Florida working on Chapters 7, 9, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. Additionally, Ms. Lopater gained experience working at Stetson Law's Veterans Law Institute assisting veterans with their appeals to the Department of Veterans Affairs for disability benefits.
Most recently, Ms. Lopater summer clerked at QPWB’s Tampa office assisting with personal injury defense appellate case briefs and nursing home defense issues.
