Kayla E. McKinnon is an associate in the Chicago and Indianapolis offices of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She is a member of the Workers’ Compensation practice group and focuses on the defense of employers, insurance carriers, self-insureds entities and third-party administrators before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. She also handles general liability and third-party liability claims in the representation of insurance carriers and their insureds in all phases of pretrial claims, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
Prior to joining QPWB, she was an as associate with a regional law firm specializing in workers’ compensation defense claims filed with the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. She also represented matters involving overweight trucking violations.
Ms. McKinnon received her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in May 2018 and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University in May 2015. While in law school, she served as an editorial board member of The John Marshall Law School Journal of Information Technology & Privacy Law and had her comment published. Ms. McKinnon also clerked at a class action litigation firm specializing in wage and employment disputes and at the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender, Civil Division.
