Terese M. Latham is a partner in the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She defends and provides strategic litigation counsel in her diverse law practice that focuses on torts, personal injury and wrongful death matters, medical malpractice and general insurance defense, insurance coverage and bad faith claims ranging from automobile negligence, personal injury protection (PIP) no-fault litigation, uninsured/underinsured (UM/UIM) motorists to trucking claims, slip and falls, premises liability and negligent security matters. She has attained an AV® Preeminent™ rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory (2007-2020).
Ms. Latham is someone on whom clients come to often resolve complex legal issues in forthcoming mediation, trials and other deadlines. With over 30 years of experience, she has litigated matters before federal and state trial and appellate courts and in administrative forums, receiving over 125 jury verdicts in civil and criminal cases.
Ms. Latham’s has served as a law firm partner for over 20 years practicing in various Central Florida law firms. Her problem-solving skills and extensive knowledge of civil litigation has allowed her mastery in conducting effective investigations, discovery proceedings and trial preparations. Before joining QPWB she was a senior partner with a Florida corporate and insurance defense litigation law firm, where she handled general personal injury cases; she also practiced as a partner with an Orlando commercial litigation and personal injury law firm; here, Ms. Latham focused on the representation of large corporations, large hospital systems and healthcare providers. Early in her career she served as a criminal prosecutor as an assistant state’s attorney in Orlando, Florida Office of the State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Latham received her Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama in 1987 and Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 1984, graduating with a major in broadcasting and communication.
She is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. She is a member of the Orange County Bar Association.
