Mark J. Johnson is an associate in the Chicago office at Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., and is a member of the firm’s Business, Financial Services and Real Estate Division.  Since 2005 Mr. Johnson has handled bankruptcies, foreclosure actions and contract disputes in the representation of both the consumer and commercial aspects of real estate litigation and specifically, on behalf of creditors and financial institutions. A major component of his practice involves mortgage foreclosure proceedings, real estate closing for properties, title review, real estate litigation and commercial transactions.

Before joining QPWB, Mr. Johnson was an attorney with various law firms handling financial services litigation and default foreclosure litigation.  His experience includes defending defenses and counterclaims asserted against financial institutions, and defenses arising from alleged violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and the Fair Credit Report Act. 

Known to negotiate complicated matters, in his representation of creditors’ rights and consumer and commercial litigation, Mr. Johnson has argued in over 100 arbitrations including bench and jury trials; and has litigated several appeals in the First, Second, and Third District of Illinois. He has also argued before the Third District Court of Appeals and received a published opinion from the First District Appellate Court.

Mr. Johnson received his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago in January 2005 and Bachelor of Arts from Saint Xavier University, Chicago in December 1997, graduating with a major in English and minor in secondary education.

He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
