Rona E. Smith is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She focuses her practice in civil litigation with an emphasis on general liability, first-party property claims, and insurance coverage disputes involving extra contractual and bad faith matters, automobile negligence, premises liability, negligent security, personal injury defense, and wrongful death matters. She attends hearings, mediations and trials throughout the state of Florida. Ms. Smith is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and County Mediator and a licensed Health Care Risk Manager. She has also worked in the firm’s Default Services and Residential Foreclosure practices.
Ms. Smith also has experience conducting examinations under oath (EUO). She has worked with consultants, adjusters and engineers and has also handled workers’ compensation defense matters.
Ms. Smith received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2003 and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida in 2000. In May 2008, she received Certification in Health Care Risk Management from the University of Florida and is a licensed health care risk manager.
Ms. Smith is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and County Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator.
