Ellen B. Burno is an associate in the Scottsdale, Arizona office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She concentrates her practice in the areas of healthcare litigation and general civil litigation.
Prior to relocating to Arizona, Ms. Burno practiced with an international law firm in Chicago and New York City, and as an attorney in Gainesville, Florida. Her experience includes litigating a variety of substantive legal areas including, but not limited to, the defense of health care entities in government investigation involving various health law regulations, anti-kickback statutes, the Stark law and qui tam actions. She is also experienced in litigated matters in the areas of health law and regulation, corporate due diligence and compliance, and intellectual property.
Ms. Burno’s experience also includes conducting high level review of confidential information for SEC investigations, conducting investigative review and analysis of complex civil class action litigation related to natural disaster insurance claims, complex discovery review in class certified tort litigation involving the areas of oil and gas distribution, environmental regulations and product liability issues.
Ms. Burno received her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2004. She earned a Master of Law in Health Care Law from DePaul University College of Law in 2011 and Bachelor of Arts in 2001 from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. While in law school, she was a member of the Kentucky Law Journal and served on a one-year judicial clerkship with the Fayette County Circuit Court.
