Robert A. Santa Lucia is a partner in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. and has over 30 years of experience handling personal injury, general liability and insurance defense matters in his representation of a vast number of commercial and personal line insurance carriers and self-insured corporations. His areas of practice include complex commercial litigation, construction defect, professional negligence, premise liability, negligent security, insurance defense and coverage including bad faith claims, product liability, and employment related claims. Mr. Santa Lucia has presided in over 100 jury trials in multiple areas of civil and criminal law in both State and Federal levels. He has attained the highest rating of AV® Preeminent™ from Martindale Hubbell Law Directory.
In 2006, Mr. Santa Lucia was a partner at QPWB’s Tampa office and in 2010 established a five-attorney law firm in Clearwater, Florida where he was founder and managing partner. He represented national commercial insurance carriers and plaintiff’s personal injury in matters involving automotive liability, premise liability, nursing home negligence and professional malpractice defense. Prior to rejoining QPWB, he was a partner with one of the largest plaintiff’s law firms in Florida where he practiced in Sarasota managing over 450 cases.
Initially, he served as an assistant state attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida where he prosecuted thousands of cases and honed his trial skills in dozens of jury trials involving misdemeanor and felony cases.
Mr. Santa Lucia earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo, College of Law in 1986 and a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1983 graduating with a major in political science.
Mr. Santa Lucia is licensed to practice in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar. He is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. In addition, he is a two-time former President of the Pinellas County Trial Lawyers Association.
