Jasleen Kaur is an associate in the New York office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A.  Ms. Kaur practices in the areas of workers’ compensation defense, premises liability, products liability, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury protection (PIP)/no-fault litigation, medical malpractice litigation, long-term care facility defense and general liability.  She represents professionals, businesses and insurers in general and complex litigation, claims handling and insurance coverage issues.

Prior to joining QPWB, Ms. Kaur worked for 10 years with a regional law firm as a senior trial attorney representing a major insurance carrier with cases involving No-Fault litigation, general personal injury defense, and fraud defense.  She handled settlement negotiations during litigation and arbitration phases in civil litigation and workers’ compensation matters involving legal issues on damages or compensation for personal injury or property.  Ms. Kaur advised on compliance issues and statutory regulations relative to No-Fault litigation.  She was an active member of the firm’s fraud team, handling disputes with the Department of Financial Services Insurance Regulation, the New York Official Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule, the New Jersey Fee Schedule and the American Medical Association’s CPT Assistant.

Ms. Kaur earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida in May 2007.  She was awarded a Master of Arts magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a major in public policy in May 2004 and she received a Bachelor of Science cum laude in May 2003, graduating with a major in business management.  During law school, she was a member of the Nova Southeastern University International Citator Journal, The Florida Bar Foundation Public Interest Mediation Fellowship, Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic and Task Group on Undergraduate Student Governance Reform.  Ms. Kaur received the Book Award in Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic, was a member of the Dean’s List of Distinguished Students and received the Outstanding Leadership & Service Award.

Ms. Kaur is a licensed to practice law in New York.  She is a member of the State Bar Association of New York. The New York Women’s Bar Association (NYWBA), and Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY).

In her community, she volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York as a Wish Granting Guide and Interviewer.

Ms. Kaur is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.
