Dakeitha S. Haynes is an associate in the Miami office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. She handles all stages of claims litigation, from inception of case to mediation and trial, with a focus on the representation of first-party property and third-party insurance defense claims, general liability, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation matters, automobile and trucking liability, catastrophic injury claims, wrongful death matters and other personal injury claims, products liability, premises liability, negligent security, construction defect disputes, and employer liability matters.

Before joining QPWB, Ms. Haynes was an attorney with an insurance defense regional law firm practicing in all of her areas of practice.  Previously, she handled hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases, from inception of case through trial and post-trial, working as an assistant public defender at the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office.

Ms. Haynes received her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, Miami Gardens, Florida in May 2017 and Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas in August 2011.  At St. Thomas, she was awarded the Best Appellate Brief Award as member of the Moot Court Board; and served as articles editor for the St. Thomas Journal of Complex Litigation

While in law school, Ms. Haynes was honored by the Pro Bono Program for her extensive volunteer work and contribution.  She worked on issues pertaining to housing discrimination, disability discrimination and prisoners’ rights as an intern with the Florida Justice Institute in Miami.  She also advocated for legislative changes pertaining to juvenile justice reforms and children’s rights serving as a legal intern with the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Ms. Haynes is licensed to practice law in Florida.
