Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Thorpe was a claims analyst at a multinational finance and insurance corporation in New York City where he negotiated and facilitated cost effective solutions for professional liability matters and evaluated litigation for hundreds of claims.  He clerked with two regional law firms securing civil judgments for cases involving personal property and tort claims, insurance matters and commercial litigation.

Mr. Thorpe received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, Newark, New Jersey in 2016.  He received two undergraduate degrees in May 2013 from Rutgers University, School of Management and Labor Relations, New Brunswick, New Jersey: a Bachelor of Arts in labor studies and employment relations; and a second Bachelor of Arts cum laude in political science.  While in law school, he was a student member of the Rutgers Business Law Review, Rutgers Civil Justice Clinic, co-president of The Employment & Labor Law Society, representative of the Association of Black Law Students, and Rutgers chapter member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Also during law school, Mr. Thorpe worked as a legal intern to The New York County District Attorney’s Office.  He also clerked for a law firm focused on labor and employment law claims working on substantive and procedural issues involving unfair labor practices, arbitration waivers and damages.  His time as a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey provided him with background in numerous legal topics including RICO, social security disability, tort liability issues and federal civil procedures.
