Brian D. Nevel is an associate in the Chicago office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., and is a member of the firm’s Business, Financial Services & Real Estate Division. Mr. Nevel has significant experience in real estate litigation, creditors’ rights, and debt collection.  He has years of experience handling commercial and contract disputes in the representation of lenders, creditors, financial institutions and landlords and tenants in contested litigation throughout Cook and collar counties involving complex issues regarding Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Federal Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Sovereign Immunity, and jurisdictional issues as they relate to a multifaceted motion, trial, and arbitration practice. 

Prior to joining QPWB, Mr. Nevel was a senior litigation attorney at a consumer finance and real estate firm ensuring the fastest and most cost-effective resolution for large lenders, creditors and landlords.  He also worked as an associate attorney at a regional law office representing lenders in mortgage foreclosure matters, alternative dispute resolution, evictions and a variety of real estate actions.  Previously, he worked as a law clerk reviewing title reports to determine lienholder priorities, prepared indemnification requests to title companies and post-solicitation and FDCPA notices.

Mr. Nevel received his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2012 and Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University in 2008, graduating with a major in telecommunications (Industry and Management – Policymaking, Governmental Affairs) and a minor in political science.  While in law school, he was a semi-finalist in the 2012 Intra-School Moot Court Competition.
