Mr. Casselman represents U.S. and foreign clients on business and government matters, particularly government contracts and commercial transactions.  He has almost 40 years of government and private practice experience in public contracting, including bid and proposal preparation, contract negotiation and administration, bid protests and contract claims, and suspensions and debarments, as well as international tenders.  Mr. Casselman also has several decades of experience in commercial contracting, including complex transactions, foreign joint ventures and export-import matters.

For over 10 years, Mr. Casselman served in various politically appointed senior positions in the Executive and Legislative Branches of the United States Government.  These included Counsel to the President of the United States; Legal Counsel to the Vice President of the United States; General Counsel of the General Services Administration; Deputy Special Assistant to the President for Congressional Relations; and Legislative Assistant to a senior Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee.

In addition to his government service, Mr. Casselman has been active in various public service capacities, serving as a Founding Trustee of the Gerald R. Ford Museum; Board Member, The George Washington Law Association; Board Member, Foundation for International Business Education and Research; Member, Committee on Legal Services, National Trust for Historic Preservation; Counsel and Fellow at the Georgetown University National Center for Export-Import Studies, also having served as a Lecturer on international business at the University’s School of Business.  For several years he was the moderator and host of the "International Trade Talk" segment of "Small Business Digest," a cable television program broadcast in the Washington, D.C. area and other local markets.

Apart from his private law practice, Mr. Casselman has served on various public and private corporate boards of directors and advisors.  For almost 20 years, he has taken an active role as Executive Vice President & General Counsel of a private business consulting firm, specializing in planning and implementing North American market entry, developing business growth and market exit strategies, and providing supporting services, including capital formation, government and commercial contract consulting, market research and analysis, formation of partnerships and strategic alliances, due diligence and business planning.  The firm’s principals have worked extensively both in the U.S. and overseas, representing small to Global 1000 companies.

Mr. Casselman holds a B.A. in government from Claremont McKenna College and a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.  He is a recipient of GWU’s Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, the University’s highest alumni honor.  Mr. Casselman also attended the Universidad de Madrid.  He is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia bars.
